Real Wedding - Katherine & Louis

Kat & Louie's custom chuppah was created to use the lazy tree as part of the 4 posts. A little draping and our hexagon lanterns combined with the beautiful magnolia leaf garland created a romantic setting under a 250 year old oak tree.

Katherine & Louis were married at Stella Plantation, Labor Day weekend of 2017!

Kat & Louie's gorgeous wedding at Stella Plantation is one of my personal favorites! The pair have a strong sense of style and are cute as can be. It was so easy to feel the love between them during our meeting! The finished product was beautiful, classic, and fun. Exactly what the pair requested for their plantation, destination wedding.

What was the most memorable part of the wedding planning process?

The most memorable part of the wedding planning process was envisioning our dream day together and actually seeing that come to fruition.

Why did you choose New Orleans for your big day?

We had come to New Orleans for Halloween for two years in a row and absolutely loved it there- the people, the food, the music- the city is the most amazing in the country.  We really wanted our friends and family to experience this amazing city so it was our first choice when deciding on locations!

Why was decor & lighting important for your wedding aesthetic?

Décor and lighting play a huge role in the vibe of the wedding.  With Luminous decorating, our reception & ceremony felt unique, romantic and classic! Did you enjoy the design process with the Luminous team?

Yes! They knocked it out of the park and were extremely easy to work with. We explained the look we were going for and they went above and beyond to make sure it happened.

What is your favorite memory from wedding day?

The entire day was amazing but my favorite memory has to be the firework show my husband surprised me with!

Do you remember what you were thinking when you saw the reception space for the first time?

We made sure to take time (before the craziness) to walk around the reception area to take every detail in. I just was in awe- it was better than I even imagined!

What advice would you give to other couples trying to plan from afar?

Hire a wedding planner! Our wedding planner made everything come together so well and they know all the best vendors- like Luminous!

What's next for the new Mr. and Mrs?!

We just bought a house and have a baby on the way in December 2018!

How cute are these two, we love the gold balloons and the sweet moment captured!

Kat's review of Luminous Events from The Knot: "We loved using Luminous Events for our wedding! We were impressed from start to finish. Once we sent them our ideas/vision board they created a comprehensive plan for the design and decor of our ceremony and reception. They had so many options and were able to do absolutely anything. When the day of finally came they executed everything perfectly. We couldn’t have been happier!"
